Arsenal are hit with a second blow during the international break as Bosnia and Herzegovina reports that Kolasinac has also tested positive for Covid.
I expect this trend to continue in the coming days and fear this won’t be the last Arsenal player to receive the news this break. Earlier this week Elneny tested positive and was forced into a period of quarantine in Cairo, where he will miss Arsenal’s match against Leeds United on November 22nd.
Given that Kolasinac has tested positive after Elneny, he too will miss that match, although Kolasinac has not played in many Premier League matches when Tierney is healthy, so he may not have been on the team sheet for Leeds anyhow.
More interesting will be whether or not this period of quarantine effects the Molde matchup in the Europa League on November 26th. Kolasinac has played 7 matches this year and 5 of 7 have been in the Europa League and EFL Cup. That includes all three of Arsenal’s group stage matches.
I am not sure I consider his absence the most devastating of possible outcomes, but absence through an illness like this is always worrying.
Get better Kola!
