Many Arsenal fans woke up this morning expecting it to be a relatively slow day of weekend news. The possibility of a few photos from training or some news ahead of the Manchester City clash in a few weeks seemed the most likely, but that was far from what occurred. In a response on Instagram, Lyle Taylor posted “the game is today (Saturday) at the Emirates” which sent people into a bit of a frenzy.
There was no stream, no coverage, limited media. It have surfaced in the last 20 minutes that the match resulted in a 6-0 Arsenal win featuring a hat trick from Eddie Nketiah and Aubameyang and Lacazette on the scoresheet as well.
A few players have reportedly posted brief images of the match on their social stories but it is tough to make out who has played and who hasn’t.
We will have to wait to see if there is a release of highlight footage or an official report from either club on the matter. In the meantime, I suppose we will just enjoy imagining a good win for the team and a good opportunity to gain some match fitness.
